A Quick Hello

Updated: Oct 17, 2021

Hi, howdy, welcome! I’m Sophie Lauver. A cat and dog mom, most importantly, and a wife, a dietitian, and a board certified health and wellness coach. I help people navigate the transition to eating more plants.

I started Plant-Based perspective to share some of my favorite vegan recipes and provide coaching and consulting on many topics related to nutrition, wellness, self-care, and how to navigate living a plant-based lifestyle in an often unforgiving, standard American diet, kind of world.

So, what IS “plant based”? A plant-based diet is a diet that focuses around plants! In its fullest form, animal products such as meat, dairy, and eggs are not included. Although this could sound restrictive initially, when done correctly a plant based diet can include A LOT of variety from fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes. I’m here to show you how exciting this diet can be and how good it can make you feel.

In my business here as Plant-Based Perspective, I work one on one with clients in a virtual setting to help them work towards their nutrition and wellness dreams. I also work with schools and organizations to help make plant-based eating well known and accessible to everyone. I believe a plant-based lifestyle can be helpful to the animals, our environment, and our bodies. This style of eating can reduce the likelihood of many chronic diseases such as obesity, high blood pressure, and heart disease. If you have already been diagnosed with one of these diseases, it is not too late. Following a plant-based diet can often reduce mortality risk, and in some cases, even reverse disease.

I work with a wide variety of clients on the spectrum of plant-based eating. I’m here to understand your reasons for interest in a plant-based diet and to ensure you have all the tools you need to live at your happiest and healthiest. Some of the common topics I work with clients on include how to cook plant-based (and how to shop on a budget), eating a balanced diet, dining out/traveling strategies, weight management, improving A1c in prediabetes/diabetes, reducing blood pressure, increasing activity levels, and improving cholesterol and blood lipids, to name a few!

In my free time, I love hiking, running, baking, nerding out about vegan recipes, traveling, and trying new craft beers.

Think we’d be a good fit and interested in working together? Shoot me an email at plantbasedperspective@gmail.com.
