About Me

Hi, I'm Sophie.
I'm a Registered Dietitian (Maryland) and Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach helping people make the switch to a plant-based diet.
I have a Bachelor's degree in Communication from the University of Delaware and a Master’s degree in Dietetics from Eastern Michigan University. I’ve worked in hospitals, long-term care, rehabilitation, and wellness technology. Through my experience, it was clear to me that the healthcare system in our country is not working to prevent disease.
I started Plant-Based Perspective to provide easy to implement strategies that show people the power (and flavor!) that a plant-based diet can have. Put simply, by eating a plant-based diet, you can reduce your risk for chronic disease. If you’ve recently received a scary diagnosis like type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, heart disease, or high cholesterol, it is not too late. You may be able to turn your health around so that a longer, brighter, and more independent future is possible. Even without a diagnosis of chronic disease, a plant-based diet can be life changing. Some of the commonly seen benefits are weight maintenance, increased energy, elevated moods, and improved digestion.
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy spending time with my two dogs, two cats, and less-furry husband. I love to cook, hate to do dishes, and enjoy spending time outside (on warm and sunny days).
